In order to obtain information and investigations via mediafinanz you need access to the client online system, even if you do not want to use the out of court default action. Access is free and non-binding. Furthermore, for obtaining credit information and the usage of investigation services you have to have legitimate interest, e.g. established in the scope of a business relationship.
How can I request information?
Having registered with our client online system you can either obtain single information via your access or use one of our interfaces.
Where do mediafinanz get the information from?
mediafinanz dispose of a far-reaching partner network and work together with the most renowned information agencies, e.g. Schufa (General Credit Protection Agency).
How are the results regarding creditworthiness of private individuals displayed to me?
In order to get a quick overview of the creditworthiness of your customer a look at the traffic light displayed in our system is sufficient. In addition to that, creditworthiness is valuated in more detail by means of a school mark system and supplemented by detailed information, if available.
Which information flows into the credit information of companies?
In order to be able to evaluate the liquidity of companies as precisely as possible, up to 15 different characteristics enter the evaluation.
How quickly do I get the desired information?
Information regarding the creditworthiness of a customer will be displayed to you in our system several seconds after placement of the order already. With the order of our investigation services the time for the provision of the information depends on the ordered investigation form.

What are the requirements for the usage of the debt collection services by mediafinanz?
You can use the extrajudicial default action proceedings by mediafinanz if you are working on a commercial basis respectively as a freelancer, have reminded your customers once at least and these are consequently in default with payments.
How can I use the collection services by mediafinanz?
In a fast and uncomplicated way, this means after registration via our registration page you will receive our welcome letter with attached authorisation. As soon as you send back the signed signature you receive personal access to the client online system and can directly transfer your open debts to us.
Why do I have to sign a collection authorisation?
The collection authorisation serves as the proof that mediafinanz are entitled to collect open claims at your order. But you remain the owner of the claim. Furthermore, the collection authorisation is the basis for the query of credit information or to enable us to order investigations.
Is there a minimum amount of claims for ordering the collection services by mediafinanz?
No, as competent collection service provider we are specialised in both the handling of small as well as big claim volumes. This does also apply to the amount of the claim.
How can I transfer my claims to mediafinanz?
For the transfer of claims we put different possibilities at your disposal. Depending on the volume of the claims you can transfer the claims to us manually via the client online system, upload them via CSV file or you use one of our comfortable interfaces.

mediafinanz is specialised on out of court collection and solely works in a success-oriented way. This means, that the accruing costs have to be borne by your debtor. Furthermore, as an external service provider, we always keep an eye on the relationship between you and your customer. We care for the collection of your claims in a factual, trustworthy and transparent way.
Can I trace the current state of the collection process at any time?
Via our client online system you always have an eye on your claims, 24/7. For us, transparency is in the fore. Therefore, we document every step of the collection process in real time.
Do I have to pay the arising costs for the collection procedure?
Since your customer is in default with payments he has to pay the arising default costs which accrue with the placement of an order with a collection company, for example.
Do I have to send you documents (e.g. invoices, reminders)?
For the transfer of claims it is not necessary to send us contract documents about your customers. We will only request them if they are needed. But via our interfaces you have the possibility to provide additional information facilitating the handling of the claims and thus possibly increase the success rate.
I have several open claims against one customer. Do I have to enter them separately into your system?
In order to keep your efforts as low as possible you can naturally join several claims regarding one customer and add them so that we remind the total amount for you.
Does mediafinanz also act if my customer is resident abroad?
In principle, mediafinanz also remind debtors abroad. Precondition is that the legal venue is in Germany. In order to obtain more detailed information about that, please contact us personally.

Why do I receive a reminder by mediafinanz although I have not received any goods yet?
In your case it is probably a pre-payment claim that frequently occurs with online auctions. With this kind of business - like with a normal purchase - a legally valid purchase contract is concluded. Therefore, the obligation to accept the goods exists in these cases, too.
Am I obliged to pay the whole sum - including collection fees?
According to §286 of the German Civil Code the debtor has to refund to the creditor the damage resulting of the default. This does also apply to the costs for the usage of a collection company for the enforcement of the claim (claim of a party to payment of his costs of the proceedings).
Is mediafinanz a trustworthy debt collection company?
Like with all trustworthy collection companies we also have the approval by the responsible president of the Regional Court for exercising the debt collection works. No, this possibility does not exist. After employment of our company all payments have to be made directly to us.
